With this in mind, today I wanted to share with you a few things you should take into consideration when buying your next winter coat.

Choose a neutral colour
If you want to invest in only one coat this season, pick something in a neutral colour. It will be versatile and will go well with everything else you have in your wardrobe.
I often look for coats that are a blend of wool and cashmere. They are a bit pricier than most coats available in shops but they are super warm and will never go out of style. Pick a classic fabric

Make sure there is enough room to wear layers underneath
I think it's self-explanatory. I've seen so many great coats on High Street but they didn't have enough room around the arms. How are you supposed to wear thick jumpers underneath?
Look at lengths
When buying a coat, choose the right length for your wardrobe. If you wear a lot of dresses and skirts, coats that sit on your knee will look the best. If you're petite, don't buy a calf-length coat. It will swamp your smaller frame.
