If you follow me on Instagram, you many have seen a few snaps that I posted from an equestrian camp in Poland. I really wanted to try horse riding so when I found out that my sister will be attending an equestrian camp this summer, I decided to join her. She went on one last year and absolutely loved it so I thought that it would be a great opportunity for me try something I always wanted to do. My 17-year-old sister wasn't initially impressed with my plans and tried to dissuade me by saying that the camp will be full of kids. Although other campers were about 11-16 years old, it didn't bother me as I have teenage siblings myself.
As I had no prior experience of horse riding, during my first day I learnt how to clean the horse and saddle it. I then tried to master the basic principles of horse riding such as mounting, dismounting, holding the reins, walking, basic turns, rising & sitting trots. Later on during my holiday, I explored local terrains with fellow riders. The horse I was riding on seemed like a perfect fit for me as he was quite stubborn and temperamental like myself. At times he was quite eager to canter but luckily I didn't fall off!
Instead of sharing a few snaps with you here, I thought it would be a good idea to make a short clip to summarise my holiday. Unfortunately, technology wasn't on my side and the video didn't turn out how I wanted it to be. Something weird happened to its quality when I uploaded the clip to Blogger so you need to watch it in a small format for the best experience. I'm really sorry about that!
