Yves Saint Laurent once said that 'fashions fades but style is eternal.' I completely agree with this statement as over the years I've learnt that it's pointless to blindly chase trends. They aren't for everyone as some look silly while others are totally unflattering. Having said that, I'm not going to pretend that I'm not interested in knowing what's trending in any given season.
I read fashion magazines and other blogs but I choose to wear only those clothes that suit my personal style and taste. I also try and buy things that will work well with what I already have in my wardrobe.
When I spotted this black and white coatingan during one of my shopping trip to Tesco a couple of weeks ago, I instantly knew it would see me through the next few seasons. It also reminded me of a similar navy and cream tile print coat from Zara that gained many fans including Olivia Palermo. While this F&F version doesn't have an Instagram account (yes, Zara's coat has its own page!), it looks super chic regardless of whether I team it with black trousers and bow tie blouse or trainers and jeans.
